Effective career development programs are like unicorns. We may know what they’re supposed to look like, but it’s very difficult to spot one in reality. This interactive workshop will aid HR professionals in understanding the three key facets of successful and inclusive development programs, and how these facets depend on each other for success. Participants will leave with a customized action plan to start or improve their own employee-driven programs.

Learning Objectives:
  • Participants will delineate the three facets that require focus when creating a robust career development program, and key characteristics of each: the employee, the developer/leader, and the corporation as a whole.
  • Participants will explore the specific components that make up an engaging, employee-driven career development program, including tools, techniques, and resources critical to the success of both employees and developer/leaders.
  • Through guided discussions and group brainstorming, participants will determine their company’s current career development approach and their unique obstacles that may prevent employees from growing their careers. Participants will create an outline of their development plan.
